Modern D1000 Outdoor Dog Bed

It was time to replace the old model of this D1000 bed that we purchased over 10 years ago and was a great quality bed - sadly it's very noticeable that this new 'modern' version is of significantly inferior quality.

I purchased two new XL sized beds for my Labradors and the first thing a noticed was that the XL is much reduced in size from the previous one, by a good 5cm in length but most importantly around 15cm in width. It doesn't feel like an XL bed at all anymore. I actually thought I'd been sent the wrong L size by mistake until I got the measuring tape out and confirmed the measurements do match those on the Snooza website. Beware if you have a dog bigger than a Labrador as I wouldn't call these XL beds at all.

Inside though is the biggest problem. The inner cushion is poorly filled and so there isn't anywhere near as much padding as there should be. That would be ok if I was able to stuff more of the Eco-fill filling into the cushion casing but this modern version has a cheap flimsy paper-ish material rather than the more sturdy material case of old and there isn't a zipper or any opening at all like there used to be to access and add additional filling.

It just feels like a cheap version of the dog beds Snooza used to be renowned for and the clear decline in quality is really disappointing.

I really wanted a smaller version of this bed to put on the verandah for our little dogs who very naughtily destroy all of their nice beds. I have managed to repair them all, but wanted something tougher.

However, it is too big for our verandah. I then gave it to one of our bigger dogs who had it one night & has chewed the handle off & put two holes in it!

Consequently, he has now lost it. Our other big dog has one in her kennel which we bought 7 years ago & which she loves.

Would really like a smaller version as they are generally very tough & comfy
